#PostponeJEEAndNEET was trending on twitter with more than 800k+ tweets with political leaders like  Rahul Gandhi, Uddhav Thackeray, Mamata Banerjee and many others have voiced out to postpone exams.

Protesting students have been demanding the CMs to invoke State Disaster Management Act (SDMA) to postpone / cancel the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) and National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET).

Higher Education Secretary Amit Khare says “Delaying the exams further would result in student losing the entire academic year. Also, a delay in the semester would not only affect the current batch but also the future batches.”

He concluded by saying “these arguments have already been made before the Supreme Court, which eventually dismissed the plea.” It is to be noted that the constitution of India has a provision which could used by parents of students below 18 years of age. Pic below.

While the protest is getting stronger day by day, it is noted that the JEE (Mains) will take place from September 1 to September 6, NEET will be held on September 13.
